Takanori Gomi

Takanori Gomi , (Japanese: 五味隆典), born the September 22nd 1978 is a famous combatant Japan board in free Combat. He is a former Welter champion with the Shooto and currently fights with the Pride Fighting Championship. Gomi is the first LightWeight champion of Pride.

It obtained this belt the 12/31/2005 while beating by KB in the first round Hayato " Mach" Sakurai finally of Bushido LW GP. To arrive finally, Gomi beat Tatsuya Kawajiri by tender (throttling postpones) and Shine Azeredo (unanimous decision) in the same evening in Pride Bushido 9 on September 25th, 2005. November 5th, 2006, it beat Brazilian Marcus Aurelio, with the decision, for its first defense of title. He is member of Kiguchi Dojo and TEAM RASCAL in Japan.
