Tailtiu , in the Celtic Mythology Irish, is the girl of Mag Mor, “king d' Espagne” and the wife of the last king of the Fir Bolg, Eochaid Mac Eirc, whose reign is famous for its justice and its prosperity. It is present in the mythical text Lebor Gabála Érenn (Book of the Conquests of Ireland) . It clears the forest of Breg, to make a cultivable plain of it, which makes it die exhaustion. The forest of Breg makes place to a clover field, plants from now on emblematic. The etymology of its name is common with that of the ground, it left besides its name to a provincial town of Meath, Teltown (between Navan and Kells). It is one of the incarnations of the Ireland.

Having survived the “First Battle of Mag Tured” which sees the defeat of the Fir Bolg by the Tuatha Dé Danann, it becomes the adoptive mother of the god Lug. With its death, this one organizes ceremonies in its honor ( Áenach Tailteann ) at the time of the festival of Lugnasad.
