The Taifa de Badajoz was the name of a kingdom (or Taifa) Moslem of the Iberian peninsula, of capital Badajoz, during the Early middle ages.

The taifa really appeared in 1013 , knew an animated history and disappeared in 1150 . It was invaded and conquered several times by the close kingdoms, the Almoravides and the Almohades, the Portugal and finally the kingdoms of León and Castille.

The city and the territories which depended on it remained at the rather independent beginning of its history. They fought constantly with the central capacity of Cordoue. However, during the Xe century , the Califat of Cordoue succeeds in controlling the city.
  • 1013 : Foundation of the taifa (Almoravide).
The Affranchi Sapur, old Esclave of Al-Hakam II benefitted in fact from disintegration from the Califat from Cordoue to found this taifa. It controlled most of old the Lusitanie, including Mérida and Lisbon.
  • 1013 - 1022 : Reign of Abu Muhammad Abdallah Ben Muhammad el Sapur Al-Saqlabi (Sapur).
  • 1022 - 1027 : Reign of Aben Muhammad Aben Maslama Ben Abdallah Ibn el-Aftas Al-Mansur (also called Almanzor I of Badajoz).
Abdallah Ibn el-Aftas, Berber of the Ben-el-Aftas, was at the origin of the dynasty of Aftasí (Aftasides) which controlled on the taifa, called commonly the “lord of Badajoz”.
  • 1027 - 1034 : Control by the Taifa of Seville.
  • 1034 : Return to the capacity of Almanzor I.
  • 1034 - 1045 : Second reign of Almanzor I.
  • 1045 - 1067 : Abu Bekr Muhammad Al-Mudaffar (or Modafar I of Badajoz), dynasty aftaside.
With died of Modafar the civil war between its two sons Yahya and Abu settled. The victory returned to the last.
  • 1067 - 1073/1079 : Yahya Ben Muhammad Al-Mansur (or Almanzor II of Badajoz), dynasty aftaside.
  • 1073/1079 - 1094 : Abu Muhammad Omar Al-Muttawakil Ben Al-Mudaffar, dynasty aftaside.
Al-Muttawakil fought at the sides of Almoravides the Christian troops to the Bataille of Zalaca (very near to Badajoz). But after the victory of the Moslem troops, there was a reversal of alliance. Al-Muttawakil was combined with Alfonso VI.
  • 1094 : Occupation of Badajoz by Almoravides. The first disappearance of the taifa.
Those kill Al-Muttawakil and two of his/her children. One of his/her children succeeds in fleeing and joining Alfonso VI.
  • 1094 - 1144 : Domination almoravide.
  • 1144 : The taifa renaquit of its ashes.
  • 1144 - 1145 : Reign of Aben Hacham.
  • 1145 - 1146 : Control by the Taifa de Algarve (Al-Gharbia).
  • 1146 - 1151 : Reign of Sidrey.
  • 1151 : Final disappearance of the taifa with the arrival of the Almohades in Al-Andalusians.
  • 1151 - 1169 : Control almohade.
  • 1169 - 1170 : Control Portuguese.
  • 1170 - 1227 : Control almohade.
  • 1227 : Christian conquest.
The Western part was allocated to the Royaume of León and the oriental party to the Royaume of Castille.
