Taichung (Chinese: 臺中市 gold 台中市; pinyin: Táizhōng) is a city of the mid-west of the island of Taiwan. With a million inhabitants, Taichung is the third city of the République of China, after Taipei and Kaohsiung. The Chinese name means " Center of Taiwan."
Geography
The town of Taichung City is located in the Basin of Taichung along the plain côtiêre which extends along the Western coast from the island since north from Taiwan almost to the southern point. The city is completely surrounded by the County of Taichung. The common neighbors are Tanzi (潭子鄉) Fengyuan (豐原市), Xinshe (新社鄉), Taiping (太平市), Dali (大里市), Wuri (烏日鄉), Dadu (大肚鄉), Longjing (龍井鄉), Shalu (沙鹿鎮) and Daya (大雅鄉).The city is bordered in the east by the Central Assembly line, in north by the hills of the County of Miaoli, in the south by the coastal plains of the County of Changhua and finally the Détroit of Taiwan in the west.
Climate
Taichung has a very pleasant climate with an average annual temperature of 23 ° C (73 ° F), and of relatively weak precipitations (annual average of 1,708 millimetres (67.25 in), but a water content from approximately 80%. Taichung has a climate hotter than the capital Taipei but less choking that the cities of the south like Kaohsiung or Tainan. Protected by the hills from Miaoli and the chain from the central mountains, Taichung is relative with the shelter of the typhoons.
