Tagesthemen

The Tagesthemen are the second more important data transmission of the first German chain, after the edition of 20 hours of the Tagesschau .

History

The first edition was diffused the January 2nd 1978, replacing the edition of night of the Tagesschau . Initially, there was an edition of the Monday to Thursday, the time box of Friday evening being occupied by the Bericht aus Bonn (later famous in Bericht aus Berlin ). Since the years 1980, the emission is also diffused saturdays and Sunday. Since the Bericht aus Berlin is diffused Sunday, the Tagesthemen are diffused the every day.

Characteristics

Contrary to the Tagesschau , which gives a fast outline of the events, the Tagesthemen are delayed on some topics and deepen them. That passes by the diffusion of longer reports, or by a comment of a specialized journalist. During the emission, a short recall of the significant events of the day is carried out by a journalist of the Tagesschau .

The presenters of the Tagesthemen use a Prompteur to read their text, contrary to the journalists of the Tagesschau , who use notes on loose leves.

Presenters

Until October 1st 1985, the Tagesthemen did not have, just like the Tagesschau , not of appointed presenter. Since this date, they are presented in alternation by two presenters.
