Taekwondo with the Olympic Games of 2008

The tests of Taekwondo of the Olympic Games of summer of 2008 will proceed 20 with the August 23rd 2008 with Beijing in Popular republic of China. On this occasion, 8 tests will be organized: 4 for the women, 4 for the men. Following the example the competitions of judo, the taekwondoïstes will clash in the Gymnase of the University of sciences and technologies of Beijing.

Tests and criteria of qualification

The competition takes the shape of a final table with elimination. The two combatants overcome at the time of the semi-finals gain each one a bronze medal. Each national committee can engage two men and two women to the maximum. Moreover, one national committee can register one representative by category.

Tournaments qualifiers

China: concerning the country host, 4 places are automatically reserved to the Chinese combatants. The Chinese national committee will decide in which category to register its sportsmen.
