Tachypnea

The tachypnea , of tachy- (with speed) and - pnée (ventilation), indicates a ventilation accelerated (“normal” breathing at rest is from 12 to 16 respiratory movements per minute at an adult, and 30 movements per minute in an infant).
Tachypnea can be the sign of a Metabolic acidosis such as for example in the unbalanced diabetics, insulin lack.
