Tachism

The tachism is a style of abstract Peinture initiated in France in the years forty and fifty. He is often regarded as the European equivalent of the abstraction expressionnist. This movement is sometimes also called Informal art (similar to the American action painting ) or Lyric abstraction .

Tachism was a reaction to the Cubisme and was characterized by spontaneous jets of painting to the brush, since perforated buckets or directly starting from the tube, sometimes with some reminiscences of Calligraphie.

The tachism term would have been invented by the critic Pierre Guéguen in 1951, although it was used since 1889 by the critic Felix Fénéon to describe the impressionist technique , and again in 1909 by Maurice Denis for the fawn-coloured .

Let us announce that the French type-setter of film musics Michel Magne recorded in 1959, for Barclay/Bel Air, an album of instrumental music entitled " Tachiste" music;. It was republished in 2007 in the Écoutez collection the Cinema at Universal.
