Presentation

Tabula Rasa brings the players in the middle of the frontlines of a epic war between a race alien xenophobe (the Race) avid of galactic conquest, and the Alliance of the Seditious Forces (AFS) which hopelessly tries to stop them.

The Race invades the planet Ground in order to seize its resources. 5 days is enough for the Earth has to be completely invaded by these quarrelsome being. However, a race of alien bienfaitrice called Eloh had left their leading-edge technology with the human ones, which allowed an small group of human, chosen for their aptitudes, to learn and use the power of this technology and to flee. These refugees escaped on extraterrestrial worlds and created the Alliance of the Seditious Forces to involve themselves to fight the Race. On these worlds, they found there allies, other intelligent creatures fighting for their survival against the terrible troops of the Race.

The player thus plays a human soldier of the AFS and can choose the aspect, the name and the first name of his character. This made, it begins as being a recruit and can had a variety of futuristic weapons, tools of demolition and a mystical capacity called " Logos" , vestige of the technology of Elohs.

Gameplay

General principle

Combining the immersion of a roleplay and the action of a play of shooting, Tabula Rasa brings the player in an intergalactic adventure where everyone with the possibility of having a significant impact on the total unfolding of the war.

Tabula Rasa takes again the traditional characteristics of a MMORPG: many searches, rather wide universe divided into several charts delimited in zones of level, and finally, in instanciées zones. These last allow a group more or less important (from 2 to 6 players) only to be found in a part of the world and to be measured with several enemies stronger, to see an army of enemies, but also to fight " boss" more difficult to overcome.

The general principle consists in carrying out searches which require to kill so many monsters, to bring back objects so much, or to escort such people. To kill out of the monsters and to make searches bring back experiment. At the end of a certain number of gained points of experiment, the player gains a level. He then obtains points of characteristics (body, intellect, will), and competences (firearm, armor…) that it can distribute to its own way. In addition to the experiment, the searches also reward the player out of equipment having for the characteristics allowing the improvement of the character.

As opposed to what say certain rumors, Tabula Rasa is not a MMOFPS. On the one hand, there is no sight with the first nobody, and on the other hand, the aiming is not with the only load of the player. The sight can be locked on a target, which is very different from the traditional aiming of FPS.

Particular points

Choice of careers

In the majority of the other MMORPG, one must choose upon the departure his " classe" of character (i.e its profession). In Tabula Shaved, all the players start from the same base: the " Recrue". Then on level 5, the player can specialize in " Combattant" or in " Spécialiste". These two options give each one access to a specific branch, with a second choice of specialization on level 15: the combatants can become " Commando" or " Eclaireur" , and the technicians choose the " Sapeur" or the " Bio-technicien". Lastly, on level 30 an ultimate specialization in " takes place; Grenadier" or " Sentinelle" (commandos), " Gunner of élite" or " Espion" (scouts), " Artificier" or " Ingénieur" (sappers), " Médecin" or " Exobiologiste" (bio-technicians). Each junction brings its batch of new aptitudes and competences. The progression of the characters stops on level 50.

System of cloning

Once arrived at each above mentioned junction, the player gains " appropriations of clone" who allow to cloner his character. The clone keeps same the level that the original, but makes it possible to redistribute all the points of competences. The characteristics (body, intellect, will) remain unchanged, just as specialization (if the original were a scout, the clone will be it also). It is also possible to entirely change the appearance of the clone compared to the original. Appropriations of clones can also be obtained by carrying out certain searches.

Check-points

A check-point is before station of the AFS or the Race. These outposts are likely beings controlled by one or the other of the two camps: it then sets up a strategy of attack or defense of these outposts. One can for example begin a search in this before station, but with the return, that Ci will have changed camp: it is then necessary to take part in the resumption of the outpost to be able to finish its search. This dynamism makes it possible to the player really to be implied in the battle between the AFS and the Race.
