Table (office automation)

See also: Table

In Office automation and in the interfaces man machine (IHM) of the Software S, a table is a chart of data, in the form of columns and of lines.

Representation

The intersection of a column and a line is called a cell. The first line or column can be called a heading or head.

The cells can be separated by features of différentses characteristic (width, color, dotted line, doubled), or be separate only by one spacing without feature.

The following table is composed of 4 lines and 3 columns.

The concepts of tables exist in HTML, Wiki and in the Word processing.

Some characters of pages of code 437 and Unicode make it possible to make pseudo-tables, provided the police force used is with constant width. Here is an example: ╭┬┾╈ ├┼┘ ┌─┬┾ ├─┾┾┾ ├─┾┾┘ ├────────┾┾┾ ┾ Data ┾ ├────────┾ ┾ Dated ┾ ├────────┘ ┌─┬┾╈ ┌─╖╭┬┾╈ ┌─╖╭┬┾╈ ┟─╢ ├┼┘

Complex tables

  • Certain word processing and Tableur make it possible to amalgamate cells, whereas other word processing make it possible to put tables inside other tables.

  • dynamic cross Table,
