Taça Brasil , which means Brazilian Trophée , is a competition of football in Brazil which disputed before the creation of the Championnat of Brazil of football. It was the most important competition in Brazil, it can be compared with the championship of current Brazil, even if the formula is different (type “crosses” with elimination by matches outward journey and return).
Of 1959 with 1968, the winner of Taça Brasil became, the following season, the representative of Brazil for the Copa Libertadores.
