TV-Lebanon 2

TV-Lebanon 2 , also called Channel 9 or the Last nine , is a Television channel public general practitioner Lebanese.

History of the chain

With the beginning of the year 1950, business men Lebanese had the idea to create a television channel which was concretized by the creation of the Lebanese Compagnie of Television in 1957.

The chain began its emissions on May 28th 1959 out of two channels of the band VHF: channel 7 diffused programs in Arab and channel 9 in French.

March 1st 2001, channel 9 French-speaking person of Lebanese official television suspended its emissions for financial reasons, at the same time as the chain Arabic-speaking person of TV-Lebanon 1 which took again its political programs on May 24th. TV-Lebanon 2 also took again its emissions.

Programs

TV-Lebanon 2 diffuses emissions in French five hours per day between 18:30 and 23:30. The chain diffuses on average an American film or another French subtitle per week.

The programs are provided by France Televisions and to a lesser extent by ARTE, TF1 and M6. the chain also has access to the bank of programs CFI and also relays the signal of TV5 Orient of which it retransmet the last newspaper with 23:00.
