TROS
In the Greek Mythology, Tros (in Greek old Τρώς / Trốs ) is the hero éponyme of the Troade and Troy.
Wire of Érichthonios and Astyoché, grandson of Dardanos and thus descendant of Zeus, he is king of Dardanie. He marries Callirrhoé, of which he has several children:
- Ilos, mythical founder of the town of Troy;
- Assaracos, sovereign of Dardanie;
- Ganymède, removed by Zeus to be the wine waiter gods. In compensation of the loss of Ganymède, Tros receives from Zeus a pair of divine horses. These horses and their descendants are mentioned several times in Iliade . According to other traditions, it is a cut worked by Héphaïstos that it receives.
