TNA World Tag TEAM Championship

The Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) World Tag TEAM Championship is a championship of Catch by team of the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

History

The beginning of the federation

In 2002, Jeff Jarrett and Jerry Jarrett formed NWA TNA, negotiating at the same time an agreement of license with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) which guaranteed to him the rights for NWA World Heavyweight Championship and NWA World Tag TEAM Championship.

The TNA separated from the NWA in 2004, but secured the right to continue to use the two titles of the NWA until 2014. The TNA was allowed to use the titles in the way in which she wanted, without having the necessary approval of the leaders of the NWA. Whereas these titles remained defended in several territories and federations of the NWA, the control of the titles was exclusive with the TNA.

Creation of titles TNA

The agreement ended the May 13rd 2007 when the NWA and TNA were intended to put an end to their relations, the NWA withdrew the title with champions NWA. The TNA continued to recognize its world champions as champions NWA until the May 14th when new the titles were create and used during the tele recordings. The title was officially revealed (on the site of the TNA) the May 15th.
