TELSTAR 1
TELSTAR 1 was the Communications satellite first and the first intended to transmit telephone communications . It belonged to AT&T, and was launched on board a rocket delta since the Cap Canaveral on July 10th 1962.
It allowed the first television program in Mondovision of the USA towards Europe (July 23rd 1962), by using the stations on the ground of Andover to the United States, Goonhilly Downs in England and Pleumeur-Bodou in France.
It had the shape of shell with 72 facets 88 cm in diameter and weighed 77 kg.
The parameters of its initial orbit were of 952 km perigee, 5.632 km of apogee, tilted with 44,79°, that it carries out in 160 minutes.
It emitted on 4 169,72 MHz and received on 6 389,58 MHz.
