TEAM Fortress Classic
TEAM Fortress Classic ( TFC ) is a MOD multi-players for the play Half-Life.
This MOD allows the players and their clans to confront itself on Internet in different way (Capture of the flag, Escorte of a VIP, Contrôle territory…). It was related to Half-Life by the developers of the MOD TEAM Fortress in collaboration with Valve Software.
This extension makes it possible to the player to incarnate nine different characters. Each class of character has his own weapons, characteristics and modes of play.

the scout is the fastest character but also the least best armed. It is mainly used to steal the flags or the ball. It is also able to uncover the spies and to unprime the mines of the bomb disposal experts. He has a simple shotgun and a small machine-gun. He is also equipped with small peaks which slow down considerably the adversaries which will go above and of overwhelming grenades. These last have several functions: they make it possible to carry out great jumps and to obstruct the adversary while making him “turn the head”.
- the franc-tireur is armed with a rifle sniper which can also be used as a machine-gun and of the same small machine-gun as the scout. As much to say that its principal function is of sniper with long distance. He has also simple grenades.
- the soldier is a little slower than the other characters but this handicap is decreased by its arsenal well provides. Indeed, it is armed with a simple shotgun and a double but also with a bazooka which can contain to 4 rockets in its charger. This character is as useful attacks some as in defense. He also has simple grenades and grenades has peaks. The latter are placed at approximately 50 cm above the ground and project small peaks. Once exhausted, the grenade explodes.
- the bomb disposal expert is armed with a lance grenade. The grenades thus launched can be either automatic, or with manual release. This makes it possible to pose several grenades and to explode them with the passage of an enemy. He also has a simple shotgun, simple grenades and grenades with fragmentation. This character, quite useful in the frays but impotent in duel, can also pose mines, which allows opens breaches in some maps.
- the male nurse is armed with an average machine-gun, a simple shotgun and a double. He has a case of care very useful for the place of the foot of hind. It enables him to look after its fellow-members but also refiler a very contagious disease with its enemies: “the gast”. Once infected, they gradually lose lives until their death and refilent the disease with all their fellow-members. Only the male nurse is able to cure a character infected by the disease. He also has simple grenades and overwhelming grenades identical to those of the scout.
- the machine gunner is the slowest character of the play… but it has the most effective weapon: the heavy machine gun. The latter makes it possible to enormously make damage without particular techniques of play. It also has a simple shotgun and a double as well as simple grenades and with fragmentation.
- the pyroman is armed with a simple shotgun, a lance flame and a flammable rocket bazooka. This last does not need to be reloaded but its rockets are unfortunately very slow. The advantage of fire, it is that it continues to make effect 5 or 10 seconds after the impact. It has also simple grenades and flammable grenades.
- the spy is armed with a tranquillizing gun which slows down the adversaries, of a knife more powerful than the foot of hind, of a double shotgun and same simple machine-gun as the scout. The principal quality of the spy that it can take the appearance of another character, is combined or enemy. It is thus able to pass unperceived to its enemies and to stab them in the backs… However, its camouflage is withdrawn as soon as it takes a flag or that it makes use of a weapon other than the grenades. It has simple grenades and grenades which project a radioactive liquid that makes insane (hallucinations in any kind…)
- the technician is not a very powerful character: he is armed with a small laser gun and a double shotgun. However, it has an adjustable open-end wrench in the place of the foot of hind which is to him of a great utility… Indeed, it can give again armor with its fellow-members but also build supply craft and a turret of defense. The latter very powerful, is once improved, but must be the work of constant care. The technician must permanently come to repair it and replace ammunition there. The technician is also equipped with simple grenades and particularly effective grenades with electromagnetic impulse.
TEAM Fortress Classic comprises two new scenarios. In " hunted" the players are divided into two categories: bodyguards and assassins. In " channel zone" the stake becomes the control of the territory. Finally to be more traditional, the traditional " mode; capture the flag" is proposed.
TEAM Fortress 2
A continuation is announced for the re-entry 2007 in accompaniment of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, but this time, the play will be based on the Source engine, the engine of Half-Life 2.
