TEAM America, police force of the world is a pastiche of the televised series of Sylvia and Gerry Anderson, the Sentinels of the air ( The Thunderbirds , 1965): a team of military puppets to the futuristic vehicles which defends the whole ground… It is also and especially a satire of the international policy where each one takes some for its rank: Kim Jong-il is malicious a straight left a film of the series James Bond; Michael Moore is a “pacifist violent one”, just like Alec Baldwin or Tim Robbins; the American foreign policy is described like catastrophic, simplistic and arrogant, etc One will seek the “nice ones in vain”. For as much, TEAM America does not develop a speech very built on the questions of international policy. On the other hand, it is a film which speaks very many action films in general, which peels the mechanisms of them, the commonplaces, the tics, the done everything sentences, “virile” humor, the simplistic philosophy, and which exposes of it finally all hypocrisy. For example, in a standard action film, the “nice one” is never punished visually for its meutres: when it kills “malicious”, this last disappears almost without traces, without exaggerated bloodsheds, without there being to be justified (the spectator/judge having already forgiven with “nice”). Here, the assassinated puppets die in a blood bath rather Gore.

One will note inter alia jokes, at the time of the scene of the beginning and the attack of the terrorists a coffee sobrement named the “Coffee Shit”… A little later the Eiffel Tower is destroyed and Paris ignites. The tone is given.
