The tap one of the tools is intended for to carry out tappings.

Another technique is the use of a threading tool interior on a turn. This technique is adapted to tappings of large diameters.

Aspect of a tap

The tap is composed of three zones:
  • the zone entered ,
  • the part guidance (or guide ),
  • the generally cylindrical tail , ends in a " square of entraînement".

Taps with hand

For manual tapping, one uses a left-hand turn (or a morel). Generally, the hand-tapping is carried out on the three successive ways using a set of three specialized taps: outline, semi-completion and completion .
