T5 ex-Wurtemberg

Of relatively rare provision of axles in Europe, the Prairie of the series T5 are locomotive with vapor railroads of state of the kingdom of Wurtemberg (K.W.St.E.) . The 96 machines of the series were built starting from 1910 until in 1920 by the workshop Maschinenfabrik Esslingen with Esslingen. These engines-tender was conceived to ensure of the connections of suburbs frequent stops which they could, thanks to their symmetrical provision, to ensure in the two directions. Consequence of the German defeat at the time of the First World War, in 1919 three specimens of this series were allotted under the services of armistice to the Compagnie of the railroads of North. The 93 remaining specimens formed, during the creation of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DRG) in 1925, the series 75.0 (n° 75.001 with 75.093 ). The last machines died out in 1963. No machine was preserved.

3.1495 to 3.1497 (North)

On this network, they carried out a mixed service in the same bearing as the ex- T12 between Lille and Calais, Dunkirk, Béthune or Abbeville. The engines 3.1495 and 3.1496 were assigned to the deposit Hazebrouck and the 3.1497 with that of Fives. During their career with the Company of the railroads of North, they accepted a certain number of transformation: carry smoke-box of the “Northern” type for the 3.1496 and 3.1497 , pump of standard brake “Fives-Lille” and a turbodynamo for electric lighting (both installed in front of the water compartments). These three machines were integrated into the driving park of the SNCF to its creation in 1938 and were registered 2-131 MT 1 to 3 . On standby of reform in 1945, they were yielded to the Secondary Railroads of the North-East where they became the CFS 131 to 133 on the line of Provins. Their date of reform is unknown.

Description

Enough oddly, the carrying axles was not assembled in Bissel but was interdependent of the frame with a side displacement in the same way as the 050. On the other hand their suspension was combined respectively with the first and the third driving Essieu by a beam distributer, which enabled them to balance the weight axle in the same way as some 050. So that finally one finds oneself with a machine which is not really a 131 of share the treatment of the axles but which is not really either a 050 of share the provision of the driving axles! Equipped with two cylinders with simple expansion, these machines were equipped with superheaters. The distribution was external of the type “Walschaert”.
