Třeboň

The historical city of Třeboň ( German Wittingau in ) is in a forest area located at the south of the Bohemia. Třeboň is located at on the road connecting České Budějovice and Jindřichův Hradec close to the border with the Austria. The historical heart of the city, preserved until our days and whose beginnings go back to the 12th century, became a zone of the protected inheritance. The seaside resorts, the castle of the time of Rebirth, the parks and relatively the immense pond Svět ( Czech World in ) make of Třeboň a very gravitational place for tourism. In Třeboň is the Brasserie Regent founded in 1379 and considered as one of the oldest breweries of Central Europe.

Nature around conceals deep forests and charming small ponds. Microphone-area of Třeboňsko is a natural zone protected and a biospheric reserve from UNESCO. During centuries, the area of Třeboň exploited its marshes and its peat bogs. The area of Třeboň is also a traditional zone of pisciculture, in particular for its carps.

Each year in May proceeds in Třeboň the Anifest - International festival of the cartoon film .
