The Asgard, a very advanced race of aliens, use especially their capacities to help the other races and species of the galaxy. Concrete evidence of their intervention was discovered on certain planets, in form, inter alia, of devices of teleportation.

Exposed SG-1

SG-1 saw for the first time a teleportor Asgard at the time of episode 01.19. Its ray was used in conjunction with a detector of symbion Goa' uld, which téléportait any intruder Goa' uld in a labyrinth where was the Marteau of Thor.

One often discovered devices of automatic teleportation on worlds protected by Asgard. They allow to téléporter people towards places given, generally provided with holographic systems allowing the communication.

The Asgard vessel-mothers are equipped with transmitters of rays of teleportation to high power. At the time of episode 02.06, SG-1 saw the vaisseur-mother of Thor, in less than sixty seconds, to remove surface of Cimméria hundreds of Jaffa and three vessel-mothers Goa' uld of Cheops class.

Capacities of the device

It is similar to the rings of transport Goa' uld, the teleportor of Asgard allows to quickly move material and individuals on short distances. The ray of energy copies then dematerializes an object and creates its exact counterpart elsewhere, a little like a very advanced telecopier. Asgard installed these devices on board their vessels. They also left on certain planets of the fixed and automated installations of teleportation. As one can direct the ray of teleportation on a precise place, the device does not need platform of emission or reception. Its use is thus more flexible than those of the rings of transport Goa' uld. Contrary to the téléporteurs of Star Trek, those of Stargate can cross the shields when one knows the frequency (cf of it: 5x22 " Révélation").

Instructions of operation

Asgard technology often implies an high level of automation. It is the case for the teleportor. The operator, on board a vessel, needs only to choose an object and to determine his point of matérialisation. The computers deal with the remainder. Units more automated even, not needing operator, were placed on various planets by Asgard Thor and Freyr. These planetary téléporteurs are very resistant and can be activated by the contact with a crystal with touch. The process of teleportation being very fast, the subject usually does not test or little discomfort.

Method of teleportation

The fixed absence of platform means that the teleportor must function at the quantum level. It identifies initially the site and the mass of the target. Then a mass equal to the double of the target is generated except site. Half will be useful during sweeping of the target, and the other at the time of its copy. Then the clean-up range is applied. (The ray being disruptive, the matter of origin of the target is made unusable.) Then, the ray teleportor makes use of second half of the generated malleable matter and models it, infusing into it the data coming from sweeping of the target. The result is a perfect counterpart of the person or téléporté object.

Features of the teleportor Asgard

Construction: The mechanism of a teleportor Asgard is generally dissimulated. The basic components are:

• an energy source;
• a transmitter of ray of balayage/de dematerialization;
• a device of generation of matter;
• a computing system.

• Height: Variable.

• Weight: Variable.
• Given complementary: The teleportor can also be used as defensive weapon.
