The télémédecine gathers a whole of medical practices permitted by techniques of telecommunications.

History

It is the November 8th 1994, which place had the first demontration of télémédecine; an examination scanner with x-rays had been controlled since the Hôtel-Dieu of Montreal (Canada) on a patient located in the apparatus of the Hôpital Cochin, with Paris (France). In 2001, an operation of téléchirurgie was carried out between New York (where was the surgeon) and Strasbourg (where was the patient).

Definition

Exercise of medicine by the means of the Telecommunications and technologies which allow the service of remote health care and the exchange of the medical information being referred to it. More largely, one indicates also this concept by Téléprésence.

  • TV-Staff : meeting of health professionals in videoconference;
