Téléchat

Téléchat is a Televised series in coproduction Belgian and French in 234 5 minutes episodes, created by Roland Topor and Henri Xhonneux and diffused starting from the October 3rd 1983 on Antenne 2, starting from December 1995 on the Fifth then in 2002 on TMC. In Belgium, the series was diffused on RTBF.

Synopsis

Intended for the children, this series parodies the Tv news adults, on Téléchat, the “television of the objects”. It is presented by Marionnette S: a Ostrich (Lola) and a cat (Groucha) with an arm in the plaster. Mikmac, the microphone of Groucha, is alive and does not deprive itself to intervene. The Gluon S there are interviewed and deliver their life in the objects to the antenna. The tone is rather critical there on television, the race with the audience or “parachutings”.

In the second season, Groucha is replaced by another presenter, the Lapin GTI (for Gregoire of the Ivory Tower), which has family ties with a person in charge of the chain and which wants to renovate the antenna. This last is the representative of the economic pressures exerted on the journalists, in spite of its obvious professional failures, he is made return to have destroyed the advertizing.

Each emission had its sequences “type”:

  • Léguman : small film putting in scene a character at pumpkin head (Léguman) which fights against an object become insane (a vacuum cleaner for example)
  • Pub-Pub: parodies publicity presented by a green monkey (Pub-Pub) particularly idiotic
  • the festival of the day: each day, Groucha and Lola announced the festival of the day (for example: “Today, day of the saint-handkerchief, good festival with all the handkerchiefs”). The days of the week were also famous: Lourdi - Pardi - Morquidi- Jourdi - Dendrevi - Sordi - Mitanche.
