Tégénaire

The tégénaires ( Tegenaria ) are Araignée S Aranéomorphe S of Agelenidae, cosmopolitan distribution, size between 5 and 18 mm and of color brown dark-black. They present abdominal drawings fine which vary according to the Taxon. One very often meets certain species in the dwellings.

The tégénaires are sometimes of big size (for a spider): the length of the body, without the legs, can reach 2 cm. It is they whom one generally meets in the bath-tubs or the sinks of the houses (because they do not manage to go on such smooth walls). In spite of their size, they are without danger to the human beings. The adult male recognizes itself with its bulbs copulateurs located at the end of the Pédipalpe S
