System links (organ)
System applied to the Organ S with pipes which consists in not strictly using 61 pipes for a play (i.e. a pipe by note), but to multiply the plays starting from the same series of pipes. It is the case of the Gonzales Babies, on 2 keyboards and pedals.
Possible extensions
- Example for keyboards of 61 notes (5 octaves):
- 73 pipes will give a set of 8 ' (pipes 1 to 61) and one of 4 ' (pipes 13 to 73); or 16 ' and 8 '
- 85 pipes will give 8 ', 4 ' and 2 '; or 16 ', 8 ' and 4 '
- 97 pipes will give 8 ', 4 ', 2 ' and 1 '; or 16 ', 8 ', 4 ' and 2 '
It is also possible to take into account the plays of change:
- For one 16 ':
- 97 pipes = 16 ', 10 ' 2/3, 8 ', 6 ' 2/5, 5 ' 1/3, 4 ' 4/7, 4 ', 3 ' 1/5, 2 ' 2/3, 2 ' 2/7, 2 '
- For one 8 '
- 97 = 8 ', 6 ' 2/5, 5 ' 1/3, 4 ' 4/7, 4 ', 3 ' 1/5, 2 ' 2/3, 2 ' 2/7, 2 ', 1 ' 7/9, 1 ' 3/5, 1 ' 1/3, 1 ' 1/7, 1 '
- It is however not advised to use about it for the acute changes which must, in the traditional organ , being right and nonmoderate. On the other hand, it can be used with the pedals very well, to reinforce the Harmoniques plays of 16 ' (16 ' + 10 ' 2/3 gives one 32 ' acoustics).
Theater organ
The Theater organ is the instrument par excellence which uses this system. Its function and its modes of plays are very different from the traditional Orgue , it supports the extensions thus much best.
- Example with 13 rows (+ 2 électronques) on III/P:
(TC) = Tenor C = play starting with C 2
