Software System 6 , simplified System 6 , is the name given to the sixth version of the Operating system of the computers Apple Macintosh. It was provided with the Macintosh between 1988 and 1991, date where the Système 7 left.
System 6 supported, like the Système 5, MultiFinder (désactivable), giving the possibility of using several applications at the same time.
System 6 corresponds to versions 4.4 of the Finder, 6 of the System and 1.1 of the MultiFinder, but the versions of Finder and the System were changed into 6 Juste before the public exit, in order to unify the numbers of version and to avoid confusions.
