Synod of Jamnia
There after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 EC., Rabbi Yohanan Ben Zakkaï was reimplanted in the town of Yavne/Jamnia and founded a school of Jewish law, which became a major source of the later Mishna. Its school is often regarded as a source of the rabbinical Judaïsme. The synod of Jamnia or synod of Yavne refers to a hypothetical proto-Rabbinical synod under the leadership of Yohanan, which was responsible for the definition of the Canon of the Hebraic Bible.
