Described in 1936, the syndrome of Kartagener is the association of Bronchiectasie S, Sinusite S, Dextrocardie, a infertility and, in 50% of the cases, of a Situs inversus.

Description

This disease is characterized by the immobility of the lashes of the epithelial cells causing Bronchite S with repetition (absence of evacuation of the mucus of the bronchi) or a male hypofertility (projection of the Spermatozoïde S made difficult), but also by a situs inversus (bodies reversed in the body, anomaly embryogenesis).

The origin of this pathology is a defect of the Microtubule S which are not functional.

Diagnosis

Treatment & assumption of responsibility

Respiratory kinesitherapy helps to prevent the development of bronchectasies. A daily bronchial drainage must be carried out even apart from the periods of exacerbations to help to prevent the infectious phases of the disease. Without this daily constancy, the bronchial risk of superinfection becomes not easily avoidable. A food comprising a good ferric contribution helps to keep the patient on level, as much physically than intellectually.
