Syncytium

In Biology, a syncitium is an area of Cytoplasme containing several cores.
Les syncitiums should not be confused with certain cells of the blood line whose core can take a multifoil aspect being able to let think of the presence of several cores (CF Polynucléaires)
Examples of syncytium:
- the muscle fibers;
- the Syncytiotrophoblaste;
- the Osteoclast S.
- syncytiums of white Globules, of which the formation is caused by HIV, allowing this one to reproduce in greater number.
One also speaks about functional syncitium in the case of network of cell connected by communicating Jonction such as for example the cardiac myocytes and the cells engaged in the spermatogenèse.
