synclinal|synclinal In Geology, one calls synclinal (opposite: Anticline) a fold whose center is occupied by the geological layers youngest. Like the term anticline , the synclinal word includes/understands a stratigraphic concept and refers to an episode of precise crumpling.
In the simple cases, synclinal is a Synforme in the middle which are the most recent layers; but if the fold is poured, these layers can appear in the middle of a Antiforme.
