Synchiropus splendidus
Synchiropus splendidus is small a Poisson (6 cm) brilliantly coloured of the very popular Callionymidae in the trade of Aquariophilie of sea water.
Distribution, habitat
Synchiropus splendidus meets in the Pacifique Westerner. It is an inhabitant of reef, preferring the sheltered lagoons and the coastal reefs.
Food mode
Synchiropus splendidus consumes mainly small shellfish and other invertebrates.
Aquariophilie
In spite of its popularity in the trade aquarist, Synchiropus splendidus is considered difficult to maintain in captivity and that because of very specific dietary habits. Some fish are never able to adapt, refusing to eat what one proposes to them, who they are amphipodes or the Copepoda as they do it in nature. A contrario the individuals who acclimatize themselves correctly prove robust and have a good resistance with respect to the Ichthyophthirius multifiliis.
