Symplégades
The Symplégades (in old Greek " who entrechoquent" ) in the Greek Mythologie two rock small islands close to the the Bosphorus are. They were entrechoquaient constantly, prohibiting navigation until the arrival of the nave Argo. They are called also the blue Cyanées islands, rocks, wavering rocks, stones of the pinnacle or planktes.
In the account of the search of the Golden Fleece, by Jason and the Argonautes they are located close to the the Bosphorus.
Jason, on board Argo, must cross Symplegades, a master key between two enormous mobile rocks at sea, which approach and are entrechoquent as soon as one tries to cross them. Jason had the idea to send a dove to it, and to precipitate there Argo right to benefit behind from the idle period necessary to the reinstallation of the rocks. In the passing of the dove the rocks were entrechoquèrent but the dove could pass and before those have time to be closed again one second time on Argo which followed closely the dove, the boat succeeds in passing and the rocks were fixed for always.
Ulysses will not cross Symplegades. Circé gives him the choice of two roads once passed the Sirens: either to pass by Symplegades, or to pass between Charybde and Scylla. It will choose Charybde and Scylla.
