The symphony orchestra and lyric of Nancy is a independent Orchestre located at Nancy.

History

Initially municipal orchestra created in 1884, it becomes independent in 1979 and takes its current name. In 1889, the type-setter and director of the Conservatory Joseph-Guy Ropartz and the director of the Opera Albert Carré, institute one season in symphonic concerts which proceeds in the Poirel room.

The orchestra is composed of 66 musicians giving a quarantaire concerts per annum, in Nancy, mainly with the national Opéra of Lorraine and with the Salle Poirel, as well as other rooms in Lorraine. It also accompanies lyric works by the national Opéra of Lorraine.
