Symphony n° 5 of Schubert

The Symphonie n° 5 in major B flat ( D. 485 ) is a symphony of Franz Schubert, made up at age the 19 years in 1816.

Though the Fifth Symphony was completed at the end of a few weeks on October 3rd, 1816, its first public execution would have taken place in 1841, thirteen years after the death of the type-setter, though other sources affirm that its partition was found even more tardily. It is probable that she was however played into private during the meetings of friends musicians in the house of Otto Hadwig.

The number of catalog (D. 485) watch, that in spite of its young age, he had then written about half of his work. It was during one particularly prolific time, all the more astonishing as it then had little time for the composition, being employed as teacher in the school of his father.

The Fifth Symphony lasts approximately 30 minutes and requires a not very important orchestra, including/understanding only one Flûte, two Hautbois, two Basson S, two horn S and of the cords. There is thus no Clarinette nor percussions and it orchestra is close to pre-romantic manpower of the first symphonies of Mozart. It was already called “the symphony without drum nor trumpet” , revena.

It comprises four movements and its execution takes approximately a little less than one half an hour.

  1. Allegro
  2. Andante idiot motor bike
  3. Minuet - long-lived Allegro molto
  4. Allegro
