The Symphonie in minor ground COp 7 is the first of the 6 Symphonie S written by Carl Nielsen between 1891 and 1894.
It is qualified by Robert Simpson, of symphony with " tonality progressive" , that of the end being different from that of the beginning. It is the work of a 27 year old artist, still under the influence of Johannes Brahms has which it showed the partition in November 1894. Its genesis in is particularly long (nearly four years).
The first took place with Copenhagen on March 14th 1894 under the direction of Svendsen. Anecdotiquement, the type-setter played in the orchestra in the desk of the second violins. It is published after some minor corrections in September 1894.
It comprises four movements and its execution takes approximately a little more than one half an hour.
