The Symphony n° 11 in minor ground COp 103 known as the year 1905 , of Dmitri Chostakovitch was made up on August 4th, 1957 in remembering the insurrection of 1905 but approaches also the repression of the people under the yoke of the totalitarian systems.
The symphony is in four movements:
- Adagio: the place of the Palate
- Allegro: on January 9th
- Adagio: eternal Memory
- Allegro not troppo: the Alarm bell

Selective discography
Two versions are essential in the discography, that of
Ievgueni Mravinski with the head of Leningrad and that of
Kirill Kondrachine with the Philharmonic orchestra of Moscow within the framework of its integral of the symphonies. The recordings of
Bernard Haitink,
Guennadi Rojdestvenski and Rudolf Barshai are also with advising.
