The Symphony as a semi minor , COp 93 is it tenth (on fifteen) Symphonie written by Dmitri Chostakovitch. It is, with its fifth symphony, one of most known of the type-setter.
It comprises four movements:

This work was made up into full
Cold war, period during which the Soviet musician was strongly criticized, with others, for its partitions considered to be confused and unmatched (Andreï Jdanov, first secretary of the Communist party, section of Leningrad). Its last symphony (the ninth) date then eight years.
Creation and reception
First on December 17th 1953 was given, little time after the death of
Joseph Stalin under the direction of Evgeny Mravinsky and gains from the start one big hit. It does not comprise any program but Chostakovitch will acknowledge later that he thought of Stalin in the
particularly oppressive allegro . One can undoubtedly see in final, definitely the more optimistic, the end of the dictator. It is also the first work in which it integrates its musical acronym DSCH (D - E flat - C - if).
