Symphony in three movements (Igor Stravinski)

The Symphonie in three movements was written by Igor Stravinski of 1941 with 1945.

The musician said that they were sound illustrations of cinematographic bands of current events concerning the Second world war for the first movement, and of a film on Sainte Bernadette of Lourdes for the second. In one second intervention, he denied any character programming science with his composition.

It is about the one of works whose writing required the most temps : nearly 4 years.

By its rhythmic accents, she recalls the former philosopher's stones of Stravinski for the ballet like the Rite of Spring.

The first took place on June 24th 1946 with the Philharmonic orchestra of New York under the direction of the type-setter.

The symphony is composed of three movements, the first comprising a Piano in the foreground, the second a Harpe, the last joining together these two instruments in addition to a Trombone in topics inspired of the Jazz.

Its execution lasts approximately twenty minutes.

  • Overture - allegro

  • Andante Interlude
  • Idiot Motor bike
