Sylvie Brunel , born the July 13rd 1960, is economist, writer and Géographe, specialist in the questions of development. She worked during more than fifteen years in the humanitarian (Doctors without borders, Action against the hunger) and published a score of dedicated works to the development, in particular with the questions of Famine. She is the wife of Eric Besson and the mother of ARIANE Fornia.
She also worked during more than fifteen years in the humanitarian action. From 1984 to 1989, Sylvie Brunel works for Doctors without borders then of 1989 to 2002 for Action against the hunger (ACF) as a strategic adviser, director between 1992 and 1993 and a president between 2001 and 2002. President of ACF since June 2001, it resigns a little less than one year later, in March 2002, denouncing the commercial drift of association. From 2002 to 2007, it is professor at the University Paul Valéry of Montpellier (Montpellier III).
Chevalier of the Legion of Honor, it was elected " woman of the année" in 1991, belonged to a " group personnalités" on the development of Africa near the General secretary of the United Nations of 1991 to 1996. It was also member of the High council of the international cooperation.
