Sylvain Simard
Sylvain Simard (26 April 1945 with Chicoutimi -) is a politician, a professor of literature and a writer Québécois. He is current the Député pequist of the district of Richelieu.
Biography
Born with Chicoutimi, he studied the Pédagogie with the Université of Montreal and obtained his Maîtrise are arts with the Université McGill. In 1975, he becomes doctor in Littérature compared with the Université of Bordeaux.Professor with the University of Ottawa until in 1976, he is the author of the book the contemporary Novel in Quebec with Robert Vigneault and François Gallays. In 1988, it receives the Prix Jean-Hamelin for Mythe and Reflet of France .
President of the National movement of the Inhabitants of Quebec, he was the regional director of the Québécois Party in the Outaouais. Starting from 1991, it chairs also the Conférence of the people of French language. In 1994, it is elected with the National Assembly, where it chairs the Commission of the institutions and occupies the function of minister responsible for the International relations, of the Francophonie, the Humanitarian action and the Outaouais.
In the second mandate of Lucien Bouchard and Bernard Landry, it chairs the Commission of public finances, the Conseil of the treasure and the committee minstériel on the culture and education. It in parallel occupies the functions of Minister for education and the public office.
Since 2003, he was vice-president of the commission on the CHUM and Porte-parole of the opposition for the Public administration and of the council of the treasure. It also carried out a diplomatic delegation in France and Belgium.
