Sydney Fox, adventurous the ( Relic Hunter ) is a Televised series américano - free - Canadian in 66 43 minutes episodes, created by Jay Firestone and Gil Grant and diffused in the United States between the September 25th 1999 and the May 20th 2002 in Syndication. In France, the series was diffused between the February 13rd 2000 and the December 21st 2003 on M6 and was repeated on Téva. With the Quebec, it was diffused on Séries+.

Synopsis

The series follows the adventures and the voyages throughout the world of the archeologist Sydney Fox accompanied by Nigel Bailey. They work in an American university, identified like the University of Trinity, and are helped by Claudia, child spoiled but of an effective help. Claudia is a secretary with the appearance niaise but which with faculty to leave itself the annoying situations of bureaucratic nature. Karen Petrushky replaces Claudia in the third season.

In each episode, one presents a relic or an artefact used in his original time. It is then lost or stolen and, after a cut, one finds oneself with the 21e century, and somebody (the museum, a collector or the government) request in Sydney and Nigel to find the relic. The duet must then make the round the world tour, with the hunting of indices making it possible to find the artefact. Very often, their investigations are blocked by a rival hunter of relic or a lost essential index. It is then in Sydney and Nigel to seize the relic before it is lost again. Each episode is concluded on a scene at the University from explaining Trinity what arrived at the relic.

Comments

The screen of Sydney Fox, Adventurous the takes again a truly historical bit of information in general and is re-examined in order to make the scenario more plausible (less for the purists). But very often, the expository scene depicts a historical reality in a context having often existed. Instead of being choked and limited to the office, Syndey and Nigel are adventurers who travel for dangerous missions. The series also abounds in comic situations, that they are words (Sydney always finding the word to laugh in a combat), or simply of scenes. While Nigel corresponds to the prototype of the serious and wise historian, Sydney, it, in addition to its control of the Martial arts, has manners much freer. It is found sometimes in fine linen room vis-a-vis the amazed eyes of poor Nigel, obstructed. According to some, there would be a history of love under their friendship. Nigel, in any case, has feelings for Sydney.

Sydney Fox adventurous the has many references to the frankness Tomb Raider (plunderer of tomb), would be this only for the English title, Relic Hunter ( chasseuse of relics ), which are synonymous.

Professor Lamenza, in the episode the Rival , is played by Kenneth Colley, actor who in particular played in the Empire counter-attacks and the Retour of Jedi in the role of the admiral Piett.
