Swordfish
see also: Etymology of Swordfish
The swordfish ( Xiphias gladius ), is a fish of the tropical seas and moderate. It can exceed 5 meters and weigh 500 kg. It has a long “nozzle” (the rostre) rather flattened which represents one the overall length third of the animal. The swordfish nourishes Calmar S and of Poisson S. It can reach 100 km/h out of top speed. Recent research has just shown that a heating muscle placed around the eye increased the temperature of this one from 10 to 15 °C. The purpose of this would be to improve the optical capacity of the swordfish and to thus improve its capacity of predator.
