Switzerland (steamer)

Switzerland is a boat “Beautiful Time” of the general Compagnie of navigation on the lake Léman (CGN). It is a boat with vapor and paddle wheels. __TOC

History

Switzerland was built in 1910 by Sulzer Frères, Winterthour, for the CGN, second of the name on Léman. Entered in service it service entrance on May 31st, 1910, it was then the largest steamer of the Swiss lakes. He since is regarded as the “flagship” of the fleet of the CGN. The boat is entirely renovated between October 2007 and May 2009 thanks to private gifts and an increase in the share capital of the CGN. Total costs: 14,6 million CHF. The Association Inheritance of Léman carried out, between 2005 and 2007, a vast historical research, which will make it possible to restore the country of origin of the living room of 1 class. Technique
