Switches to sew

A switches to sew is an instrument of Couture making it possible to make pass a wire through the fabric.

One of the ends is pointed and makes it possible to bore fabric. The other is provided with a perforation called eye , in which one passes the wire so that it is involved with the needle through fabric.

History

The invention of the needle with eye is attested towards 18000 BP, with the Solutréen. It was then made of Os, or, probably, of Bois.
