Swiss highway A1
The Swiss highway A1 is the road main axe is - western of Suisse. A1 highway connects the French border to the Austrian border while passing by the following cities: Geneva, Lausanne, Yverdon-the-Baths, Estavayer-the-Lake, Payerne, Avenches, Morat, Bern, Aarau, Zurich, Winterthour, Saint-Gall and St Margrethen.
The Geneva-Lausanne section was the first highway of Switzerland, built at the time of the national exposure of 1964.
Since October 2006, a1 highway is equipped with automatic radars between each exit of the section Vaud ois of Lausanne to Geneva.
