Swiss Civil code

The Civil code Swiss or DC ( Schweizerisches Zivilgesetzbuch or Italian, German ZGB Codice civil svizzero or DC), is the text codifying the legislative standards of the Swiss Private law. Its complete title is Swiss Civil code of December 10th, 1907 .

History

The DC is accepted on December 10th, 1907 and between in force on January 1st, 1912. It is the fruit of a long work of regrouping of the various codes of private law (cantonal) existing. It underwent since forty modifications by legislative acts. It is largely inspired by the German civil code which itself had strongly impregnated Napoleonean code.
