Sweet (" The Sweet " before 1975) British Groupe of music of Glam rock'n'roll of the Années 1970 is a .
La great popularity of Sweet, in England in particular, is, inter alia, due to their image Androgyne glam-rockeurs and to individual goods classified in the sales ( Ballroom Blitz ,…).
Musical analysis
Their sound is very close to that of the hard rock (saturated guitars, low door…), very favourable with endiablées representations live. Origins
The origins of Sweet go back with 1965 and an small group of blues, the Wainwright' S Gentlemen , which included/understood the future beater of Sweet, Mick Tucker , and the future singer of Deep Purple, Ian Gillan.After the departure of Gillan in 1965, Tucker engages Brian Connolly to replace it. The changes of the group are numerous, and Steve Priest integrates the group as a Bassiste in 1968. After being itself named The Army or Sweetshop , the group adopts the name of The Sweet in 1968. Andy Scott replaces the Guitariste Mick Stewart in 1970. It is the final form of the group, which renames Sweet (as from 1974 in the albums and 1975 in the individual ones).
