Swan tuber
The Swan tuber or dumb Cygne ( Cygnus olor ) is most common of the kind in Europe in be, in particular in the North of the France. In France, manpower have strongly increased for 30 years. Some of these birds are regarded there as domestic. It is also present in Great Britain, in the north and in the center of the Europe, in the north and in the center of the Asia. It was introduced in North America, in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. It is also met in a sporadic way in Asia, until in China.
C' is one of the species of Palmipède most accustomed to the man, which is due partly to its breadth (125-155 cm). It can become aggressive, especially at the time of the period of nesting. This species which is LMBO nullius in France, is animal of the king in the United Kingdom or Denmark. It belongs to the wild species having the greatest sensitivity to the stock H5N1 of the virus responsible for the Avian flu.
The name of the animal comes from the bump which it has on the nozzle, and which one calls… a tuber.
La world population is estimated between 600.000 and 620.000 individuals.
Description
The plumage of the adults is white, whereas the youthful ones have a brown plumage grisâtre or white. The nozzle is orange with a black bump at the base: the tuber. This one is much larger in the male in period of reproduction. The differences relate to the white youthful color of the sleeping bag (instead of brown gray at the normal form) and the color dew of the legs (instead of black).
Food
It is made up mainly of watery plants, Mollusque S and small watery organizations. It is also nourished on the ground of terrestrial plants and some invertebrates (small snails, slugs or insects eaten with the sheets that it introduces)It can splash to be nourished by rocking the head in water. When the depth allows it and the top of the muddy funds, it agitte legs under water. This movement digs a funnel or the heaviest organizations accumulate, being then easier to eat. By doing this it can introduce lead shot of hunting, and die of Saturnisme (what is a frequent cause of mortality of the swans on the strongly driven out zones).
Reproduction
It niche on various water levels in a wild state or in semi freedom: lakes, rivers, ponds, parks. The incubation is assured mainly by the female in a nest made branches to same the ground, on the edge of a water level.

If this species is classified in France in the list of protected spaces, the form immutabilis or white Polish swan is classified in the list of the pets by the Department of the Environment and
