Swalm

The Swalm (in German: Schwalm , in Limbourgeois Zjwaam ) is a Rivière of the Germany and Netherlands, affluent of the Meuse.

The source of Swalm is in the east of Wegberg, in Rhineland-of-North-Westphalia, not far from the border between Germany and the Netherlands. With Swalmen, Swalm is thrown in the Meuse.

The river has a length of approximately 45 km, including 33 km in Germany and 12 km with the Netherlands. The surface of the Bassin pouring is of 277 km ², including 251 km ² in Germany and 26 km ² in the Netherlands.

The part Dutchwoman and part of the higher course of Swalm preserved their historical natural sinuous course. The valley of Swalm belongs to the Meuse-Swalm-Clear Natural reserve.
