The swallowtail butterfly ( Papilio swallowtail butterfly Linaeus 1758) is an insect Lépidoptère of the family of the Papilionidé S. It is present in all Europe but seems to rarefy in Central Europe.

This species has a vast surface of distribution practically covering all the moderate northern hemisphere. More than one hundred subspecies were described.

  • Scale: to 90 Misters

  • Period of flight: March at the end of September, from one to three generations according to the latitude.
  • Habitat: flowered meadows, at least up to 1.800 Mr.
  • Plant-hosts: Fennel, various Ombellifère S, Citrus .
